October, for Casa is a pivotal month, we need your help.
October is Italian Heritage month, it is the anniversary of the purchase of the Casa property, and it is a tax month. Hopefully you have had a chance to celebrate our culture at one of the many events produced & hosted at Casa in the last 4 years. We look forward to increasing our cultural programming.
Casa has reached a watershed moment; we need your help to push forward.
We can begin to use the upstairs hall at full capacity if we have an approved plan to install some method to move people up/down the stairs. While the end goal is an elevator ($310,000), we are targeting a more affordable stairlift ($9,000) as it qualifies for the occupancy approval in the shortest time. We can begin to use the hall for up to 158 seated guests, a truly significant event. This achievement is the result of donations and a lot of hard work. Thank you to all who contributed to the process thus far!
In order to complete the hall, we have before us:
- ADA compliant conveyance (chair lift) ($9,000)
- A new set of dedicated tables & chairs ($3,000)
- Audio/Visual System (that will support online conferencing) ($$=TBD)
Beyond the hall, we have other larger projects to achieve:
- Elevator for use by people & Caterers ($310,000)
- Commercial grade kitchen in support of events & Italian cooking lessons ($100,000)
- Renovation of the outdoor grounds to support a piazza & Bocce ($40,000)
And of course, we have the mortgage & property taxes to address.
We have been working with our banking contacts, to get a more advantageous debt structure in place. The primary items the banks want to see are:
- Established income from space rental
- Regular donation income based on recurring pledges
We are appealing to our patrons for pledge-based donations to ensure the viability of Casa. Without your pledges, we will not be able to bridge the gap between now & the point of established regular income from room rental & grant awards.
