We’ve teamed up again with Dr. Claudio Mazzola (featured photo), Associate Teaching Professor in Italian at the University of Washington in Seattle to teach our next Italian language class onsite! From Milan, Italy, Dr. Mazzola teaches multiple levels of Italian, including this fall with Elementary Italian and Italian Society in Film and Literature at UW. Dr. Mazzola received his “Laurea” in English from the University of Milan in 1981, and also has a degree in cinema studies from the City University of Milan. He went on to receive a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Washington in 1986, and is a published writer in these topics.
Beginner/Open Level Travel Italian for adults – Eight-week class
Are you planning a trip to Italy? Or want to learn some helpful basics to communicate in Italian? This class is for you!
Gain the tools for confidence in Italian travel: introducing yourself, ordering at a bar or restaurant, asking for directions or information if you get lost, understanding directional signs.
This class is for students who have little or no exposure to Italian. It is ideal for anyone who isn’t ready to commit to long-term Italian study but needs an introduction to the language before a trip to Italy. Class capacity is 15 students to commence the course, we will reach out to confirm class launch once we’ve filled all seats.
CLASS DETAILS:
Class will be taught by Dr. Claudio Mazzola, UW Associate Teaching Professor, at Casa Italiana at 13028 First Ave. S., Burien WA 98168
Cost is $275 per student which includes the eight weeks of instruction; this is an adult class and all students need to be at least 18 years of age.
Class will begin promptly at 11:10am and finish at 12:10pm on eight consecutive Saturdays this spring: Apr 5, Apr 12, Apr 19, Apr 26, May 3, May 10, May 17, May 24, 2025.
MATERIALS:
There is no book for this class. Please bring with you to class something to take notes on, such as a notebook or a laptop.
